The duration of the flight is highly dependent on multiple factors relating to the atmospheric conditions and the starting altitude. Gliding is maintained with consistent lift, meaning that if there is less lift on a certain day you will be in the air for a shorter period of time.
On average, a glide beginning at 3,000 ft. will last approximately 15 minutes. 4,000 ft. will stay aloft for around 25 minutes. 5,000 will stay in the air around 35 minutes.

Our operation uses a tow plane to pull our glider up to the desired altitude using a rope attached to both ends by a safety release. Once we have reached our desired altitude, the glider pilot releases the tow rope and breaks away from the tow plane, ready for the glide.
